Kashi Bibhuti Bhasm

Kashi bibhuti or Kashi Vishwanath Bhasma is a sacred ash (bhasma) associated with the city of Varanasi, also known as Kashi. Varanasi is one of the oldest and holiest cities in India and is considered a major spiritual and religious center for Hindus.

Kashi bibhuti Bhasma is typically made by burning cow dung cakes, and it is often associated with Lord Shiva, who is one of the principal deities in Hinduism and is particularly venerated in Varanasi. The ash is believed to have purifying and spiritual significance, and it is sometimes used by devotees as a mark on the forehead or body, similar to the way ash or “vibhuti” is used in worship of Lord Shiva.
